Assignment 2 Lesson Plans

To introduce students to Microsoft word, as a teacher I would have an activity that would get the students to experiment with Microsoft word. I would organise a work sheet and in pairs, students will answer the questions on the worksheet. The sort of questions I would ask would be things like, where on the screen is the print button, or where on the screen is the help menu button. Once all the children have done the work sheet, I will sit down in front of the computer, and go through and mark each question all together. This will be an effective way to evaluate how much the students will know about microsoft word, and how much more time you will need to spend on the way microsoft word works. Whatever the theme in the classroom is, I would get my students to write a story on that topic, or do an individual investigation, and to present it they must type it up using microsoft word. They will all be rostered on to a certain time of each day, so that they all get a chance to type it up. And if they don't finish it they will in their own time. The learning outcomes that children develop, is that they will be more familiar with the computer, and what certain programs can do, in relevance to microsoft word. By followign the operations mode students will also be able to put information into the computer by typing it in, whether by dictation or reading off paper.
